Alan aims to clean up with Ready Services

A Liverpool entrepreneur is hoping to clean up through a new corporate car washing venture. Former lorry driver Alan Kirk has launched ‘Ready Services’ with help from business support group Dream High. He has been given marketing advice and support from Dream High’s volunteer panel members and has been guided by enterprise facilitator Claire Chang. Claire helped Alan to gain a place on Liverpool Chamber of Commerce’s New Entrepreneur Scholarship (NES), which involved a training programme and a grant of £1,500. The Dream High backing also helped Alan secure a £500 grant from Liverpool Vision and to access support from Step Closer to Work. Alan offers nine services from gutter cleaning to preparing walls for decorating – but it is his mobile car valeting service which is proving popular with local business clients.

He said: “I come with a van containing a large water container, a generator, jet wash and hoover and I can wash and vacuum vehicles while their owners are at work. It means that they come out after a busy and stressful day to find their car beautifully cleaned. My slogan is ‘Ready when you are’ – and that says it all!”

Alan has secured qualifications with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme in health and safety and has already lined up regular work with Berrybridge Housing, The Power House in Toxteth, Kenyon Fraser communications agency and One Stop Shops in Old Swan and Knotty Ash.
